The Warsaw Negotiation Round

The Warsaw Negotiation Round is the international negotiation tournament, held on April 4-7, 2014 in Warsaw, Poland.

The Warsaw Negotiation Round 2014 is the fifth edition of Central Europe’s first and one  of the few worldwide international negotiation competitions for students representing leading law and business schools from all over the world. It is organized by Student Scientific Association “Negotiator” of Warsaw School of Economics. The event will take place at the leading business school in Poland – Warsaw School of Economics.

The tournament lasts 3 days, beginning on Friday with official opening at our university Warsaw School of Economics, and ends on Sunday with official banquet. Twelve teams participate in The WNR. Each consists of three members. To take part in The Warsaw Negotiation Round, you are asked to fill application form and sent it to us together with the CV’s of all members of your team in English and the motivation letter.

Warsaw Negotiation Round consists of four rounds, which are treated as qualification to the final round. The Jury consists of experts on negotiation and communication, special guests and the author of the scenario. The Jury grades the negotiation skills of the participants and the terms of the reached agreement.

Negotiating teams have the opportunity to compare and improve their negotiation skills by dealing with realistic business scenarios. These skills are crucial in the day-to-day business environment. The tournament encourages negotiating teams to prove their team spirit, as well as the ability to work under pressure. Due to the tournament’s global character, participants have the opportunity to meet and share experiences with fellow students from other countries and cultures.

"Aim at Future Goals" Conference

"Celuj w Przyszłość"

"Aim at Future Goals"( in Polish„Celuj w Przyszłość”) is one of the newest conferences organized by us. So far there has been two editions of it. The aim of this conference is to give the participants a chance to learn more about the job market, the possibilities to find a well-paid job after graduating from universities and also about the employers’ preferences and key skills, which candidates should have to be hired.

What is more, students can take part in trainings and workshops, which are focused on developing their soft skills like time management, dealing with stress, team management, public speeches, the ability to motivate people and many other. During the conference there are organized several assessment centers as well, so that the participants could put the theory learned from lectures and trainings into practice.

The classes and lectures are always held by the professionals from business world. This year we invited experts from Deloitte, Hudson, AKADOS, Life Intelligence, Business Studio Szkolenia and Progress Partner. Apart from them, there were also five coaches, who were talking about creative searching for business ideas, marketing in social media, dealing with stress, setting up our own business and lies detection.

The third edition of “Celuj w Przyszłość” will be organized in November 2014. The conference has a good reputation not only among students, but also among experts, who were invited. Right now we are cooperating with many of them, hoping that those relations are developed and new ones are made.

Negotiation training sessions

Providing workshops for companies, organisations and students

Negotiations are an art which takes time to develop. Through the experience of the best negotiators we meet and our approach of constant research of the most effective ways to convey knowledge, we learnt that the best practices leading to an outstanding performance are based on experiential teaching. Apart from transferring knowledge through short lectures we create an environment where people can step into a role of a negotiator and experience things like responsibility, time pressure, problem solving, conflict resolution, rhetoric, body language, pre and post negotiation analysis and so on. Therefore, our workshops are organized to engage participants into solving cases and group exercises as much as possible.

We believe that it is most successful to organize a series of workshops rather than a sole one; this way a continuance of skill development can be substantiated.

"Thursday Meetings"

Weekly meetings of our  organisation - special guests, workshops, simulations

This event is a series of weekly meetings concerning either theoretical or practical issues. First of them are experts’ lectures on negotiations, psychology and business. The aim of those classes is to acquaint students with negotiation methods, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, time management or psychological aspects and importance of mediation and negotiation in everyone’s life. Thanks to the outstanding experience of our guests, who predominantly are economic personages, students have this exquisite opportunity to learn useful facts and tips, get to know themselves better and decide where to focus their effort on the way to the future career. The second part are the practical classes, where participants train their new skills and have an opportunity to negotiate with a partner on a basis of the scenario and simulations prepared by professionals. Improving our skills we can spend time together in a friendly atmosphere and meet new great friends.

Negotiation books

As the organisation we have published 5 books covering negotiation case studies, negotiation analysis and comments. 2 other are in progress.

Case studies are considered to be the most effective way of developing negotiation skills. This tool enables people to act in role-play situations based on business life. To enable readers to make progress, each case study includes a detailed analyse and comment, so one can see possible solutions, explore possibilities to work out a suitable strategy for a simulation as well as acquire some practical knowledge. Proffesionals value our books for their practical approach and compelxity of framing business-oriented situations. Members of our organisation write case studies also for the purposes of national and international tournaments and competitions, training courses as well as for the commercial usage.
